Simply Stunning at the Belfry

Spa Uniform |

La Beeby recently pulled out all the stops to ensure the beauty team at the recently re-styled and re-furbished spa at The Belfry.
Simply the Spa now under the management of Dawn Stakounis and the team at Hive of Beauty, managed the daunting task of turning their vision of a stylish and contemporary spa in double-quick time, for their recent celebrity re-launch evening at the end of April.
Dawn, asked La Beeby to interpret her ‘own’ design ideas into a comfortable, durable and stylish uniform that would complement the overall style and decor of the new Spa. “A great deal of effort went into making sure the girl’s uniforms were available on time, and I think the uniforms looked amazing” said Dawn. The girls were provided with the option of a dress or tunic and trousers, both in stunning chocolate and red, which they will wear on defined days.
“It was a super project to work on, a clear brief from Dawn & Amy at Hive, ensured that we could work quickly to create a truly stunning uniform to complement the beautiful Spa and showcase La Beeby’s abilities to create a very personalised and bespoke uniform for our clients’ added La Beeby Managing Director Dave Cottrell. “Simply the Spa is now an extremely stylish facility and we wish Dawn, Amy and all the team at Hive, every success”.

La Beeby show their ‘Troos’ colours

While the winds blew high, and the winds blew low – the Scots they loved our troosers!
To show their commitment and full support to the Scottish market and the Scottish Beauty Show, La Beeby took to donning tartan trousers and scarves to complement their popular collection of uniforms.
“We thought it would be a fun idea to showcase our uniform production skills, and at the same time illustrate how much we enjoy supporting our Scottish customers, who always make a huge effort to come and see us at the Scottish Beauty Show.” said Managing Director, Dave Cottrell.
Whether it was ‘because of’ or ‘inspite of’ their tartan attire La Beeby once again enjoyed a very busy day at the Scottish Beauty Show
“The compliments we received throughout the day, and the business through the till suggested they enjoyed our efforts, so who knows what we may be wearing next year” concluded Dave.

La Beeby International is the leading brand of Health & Beauty uniforms in the UK. Its success in bringing stylish, innovative and practical uniforms to the Hair, Health & Beauty industries has lead to a World Wide clientele being developed.
The success of La Beeby stretches beyond its ability to recognise the need for fashion to meet workwear and lies deep in the governance of its company. Of its 30 employees 20 are share holders and owners of the company. This has a direct link to the company’s passion to deliver a service that is un rivalled by its competitors. Dave Cottrell the MD notes that the board room is full of employees making decision to spend money on “overstocking” in sizes 6-32 to ensure that 24 hour delivery from order is possible rather than paying out “fat cat salaries” This is one example of how employee ownership has lead to full employee engagement and because of this La Beeby has and will continue to deliver its mission statement.
Our passion is to deliver innovative designs and excellent service by creating an environment that enables people to develop and grow. |

Following a late call from the Endemol production team, La Beeby were more than happy to step in and help dress the celebrity contestants for the third ‘Celebrity Scissorhands’ in aid of Children in Need.
La Beeby fans may have recognised the ladies cutting the mustard in the ever popular White Chandelle tunics and the gents doing their best to appear as competent therapists in the La Beeby Jaques mens’ tunic.
With only a few days notice to dress the 10+ contestants with a number of tunics each, La Beeby’s commitment to stock holding came into its own, and ensured that all were catered for and allowing them to present a professional approach as they embarked on a rapid learning curve into the wonderful world of beauty therapy.
Hats really must go off to Lee (salon manager) and Claire (beauty expert) in their battle to seeming to manage to turn a bunch of celebrities into fully fledged hair and beauty experts in just three weeks.
“It is not often that you get to see our garments ‘in action’ when sitting in your own front room” said La Beeby Managing Director Dave Cottrell, “and it was great that it was in such a wonderful cause, and were only to pleased to help”.
Whilst ‘The Academy is closed for another year and the scissors, curlers, straighteners and wax pots have been stashed away. For the staff at La Beeby who tuned into watch their were number of highlights, such as Steve Strange’s tantrums and questionable make-overs to the emotive and tearful Scott Robinson. But perhaps the highlight was the hilarity of watching Lee McDonald (AKA Zammo) and Claire breakdown in a fit of giggles as Zammo tried to perform that most intimate of waxing procedures for boys...Priceless.
Thanks to the generosity and support of the viewing public, Celebrity Scissorhands 3 raised over £50,000 for Children in Need. And as a thank you for La Beeby’s support Jeff Leach (the eventual runner-up, narrowly losing out to Sabrina Washington) kindly forwarded on his beauty tunic, complete with his signature ‘Skull’ image on the pocket. A momento that now adorns the La Beeby offices. A super event for a fabulous and worthwhile cause. |
