3 Beauty Student Essentials For 2020

3 Beauty Student Essentials For 2020

We’ve said our goodbyes to 2019. It’s now the perfect time to look ahead and start preparing for the new year by replacing products and tools, and making sure you have everything you need as your beauty courses resume. But being a beauty student can be difficult. So, we’re making your life easier by coming up with the top three essentials you’ll need to get your year of studies off to a flying start.

  1. Up-to-date tools

Are you tuned in to the latest trends? And have you got the right equipment and knowledge to carry them out? Researching potential 2020 trends and having the tools for the job is a must. Not only will it put you ahead of the game, making you more desirable to potential employers, but it ensures you don’t miss out on clients just because you aren’t in the know.

You don’t have to go out and spend a fortune on new equipment, however – cleaning and repairing broken tools will work just as well as new, after a bit of TLC. You could even ask around your beauty college for second-hand tools from older students, or search the web for a bargain. Just make sure they work, are safe to use and (most importantly) clean. Having a sterile, immaculate set of tools will demonstrate your dedication to your chosen profession, whether they’re new or not.

  1. Fresh products

Time to top up your lotions, creams and everything in between. Throw out old products you don’t use (or gift them to your classmates), and equip yourself with what you know you’ll need for the new term. But, above all, make sure you invest in products that’ll be popular in 2020 – remember, the last thing you want is to get behind the times.

It’s all about the natural look this year. The heavy make-up fad has been and gone, so you might want to think about updating your cosmetics bag to include products that show off your models’ natural beauty. Tinted moisturiser, barely-there lip gloss and eyebrow gels are just some of the things making a comeback this year, so ensure you’re stocked up.

  1. A professional uniform

Out with the old and in with the new. It’s the start of another decade… why wouldn’t you treat yourself to a modern, professional-looking work uniform? After all, with many young people looking to gain a foothold in the beauty industry, you need to distinguish yourself from the rest. So, make a statement and stand out from the crowd.

Show off your personality whilst keeping a sharp, tidy image that’s suitable for the workplace: add a belt or a splash of colour to your uniform. You can even wear your own clothes underneath tunics, for a quick turnaround at the end of the day.

Here at La Beeby, we pride ourselves in making sleek uniforms for students and professionals alike.
